Von Smith is indeed somewhere over a rainbow and he is definitely different. On one hand he was good and on the other he was pretty rough. He really has a good voice and I THINK he could be good. He just sang too loud and tried to go into too many ranges. OK he looks like a bit of a weirdo but with some vocal coaching he might be OK.
Right now the ads are running with a cliff hanger as to will he move on or not. In the interest of honest blogging I have to state at the moment I don’t know what is going to happen.
Guess I will have a beer and wait for Simon and the gang to tell us what they think. My gut is they are going to give him a chance…..pause for commercial……………seriously.
OK they are back and Randy said the “vocals were pretty good” and Simon like him as well. Paula gave him a yes and so did everyone else. Looks like I called this one right. I don’t know that this guy is going to be a Pop Idol but I can tell you if not he probably has a future in Broadway type shows. One thing about him, he was interesting.
